In that case, add $2000 to $3000.  Vortexers will lowball the crap out of you.

Anyone?  719 special discount if you include a non-eaten bologna sandwich.

Also, say I was really desperate, what kind of price would I be looking at if I brought this to a dealer?

Look up trade-in value on KBB and that's about it.  (Well that's what they'll show you on paper and then you'll end up with half that in reality).

Went and test drove the blue R32 down at Heuberger.  They are smoking crack if they think they are going to sell it for $23k  :o  especially when you can buy an '08 R32 for $26k, lol.  But at least I got to drive one finally.

In my refreshed excitement for car shopping I really wanna sell this GTI now so I can afford a decent down-payment.  I'm going to look at a silver R this weekend.  Let's see some offers, I am willing to negotiate :-)  If I don't have any local interest in the next few days I'm gonna throw it to the vultures on eBay.

Check the tex, they got good deals on R's too. Especially if you are willing to travel out of state. One of these days I'll get a red one... mkiv r's are the way to go if you are stepping into the r arena

Yeah, I'm not a fan of DSG.  Technologicall y it is badass but, if there's no clutch-pedal then I'm just weirded out.

I'm looking at a silver one in Albuquerque.  43k on the clock, guy is asking $17,000.  Seems like a pretty hot deal to me if it checks out alright this weekend.

..and that's the biggest reason why the mkv R flopped. I think they were originally going for $33k when they first came out when the 5 people, that wanted an automatic in their R, bought them. Now they're trying to dump the other 4995 for whatever they can get.

DSG is neat from the technology stand point, but they drive exactly like their slushbox counterparts.

as well as the fact that the dsg has some issues at higher torque figures...bein g that its made of lighter materials.
