I agree. Even though I love MKVs, you'd have to practically give me an 08 R for me to consent to own one. Hopefully the MK6 will redeem the R.

Here they are (hope this works) Also, the black and red wheels are what I fortunately took off a couple of weeks ago so they are for sale and the roof rack is also for sale.

They're gorgeous, but I need an 18x9 or 18x10 with 25mm offset.

depends how much they say it was worth. My jetta was going to be 4 grand at a minimum to buy it back and I owed 6,500 on it. I did good though, they settled like 8000 I think or something like that?  All I know if I paid off my Jetta, and bought the Passat that had less miles and my payments are less than my dirtbike payments.

You might be able to do pretty good yourself man!  I still wish that I had sprung for a 24V VR6 or a 4.2 Audi instead.

Best of luck, and I could start looking for cars online. It would be a good time to buy a VR MK2  :P

First and foremost i'm sorry to hear about your loss.  I'm glad the dog is ok for sure, and luckily you only came out of it with a broken finger.  That being said, i want to clarify a couple things i read in the thread.

he was at fault, even got a ticket for it. Plus I have gap insurance so I should get a new car. I'm just bummed about all the work that was just put into it. Only thing that survived was my new rims since I took them off a week ago. So, if anyone is looking for some black 18's with red lip, hit me up. Same wheels as in my avatar

Just wanted to clarify that the GAP will simply pay off your loan.  So, if for example your car is worth 18k (not including your custom parts), and you owe 22k on your loan, they will pay your loan off rather than just the value of your car.

if you have receipts for Wat you had done show the insurance company, they should reimburse you for it!

No, most policies include only $1000 USD in ACPE (Additional Custom Parts & Equipment).  Unless he specifically called his insurance company and requested additional ACPE he can pretty much kiss any of his custom stuff goodbye.

There was only about 1000 in custom parts on the vehicle...   The rest was repairs made WHICH an insurance company will sometimes pay you for major repairs that were just done....  And since i recently pretty much rebuilt the entire car they should give him a lil sumpin sumpin...

All depends, if it goes over a certain threshhold they'll just total the car.  Anyways, i just wanted to set expectations as there is just way too much misinformation floating around the public regarding auto insurance.
