I thought the exhaust manifold was a one-piece unit with the turbo? Sounds fishy.
negative ghostrider....
. the 2.0tfsi is a single unit.
1st question is it a 99 or 99.5...
99.5 have single piece lexan headlights and HIDs,
has actual cupholders (95-99) had these little flip up cupholders next to the e-brake handle.
if it is a 99, then it is a ko3 turbo @150hp stock, 99.5 is Ko3sport (ko3 hotside/ko4 compressor) 180hp.....
either way unless you open up the intake, or exhaust you wont hear it whine up, also it wont boost uless its under load, so revving in the parking lot is useless too.
also ignore getting an intake, stick with the factory one. it is better than any aftermarket one out there.
the airbox sits on the hot side of the engine, so it will freely suck in hot air. (people have been re-engineering heat shields forever just so they can "hear" the turbo/intake sound at cost of actual performance, replace the paper with a regular flat K&N
best thing to do for performance while retaining stock comfort, get it chipped & replace the diverter valve with either an audi tt 225 one, or forge or any other aftermarket one. (do it at same time because the factory one will blow out on you real soon if you don't) after that a down-pipe/exhaust is your best bet, the down-pipe will eliminate the cat, because it comes right off the turbo.
anyways hope that helps.... oh and i would recommend a set of 17x8.5et13 front / 17x10et20 rear schmidts or brocks, and KWv3 coilovers with hockey puck bumps....
