Hai....i'm newbie...I own a 95 S6 Avant with 200,000 miles. Recently i've heard a "ticking" noise from hign in the engine. I thought it was the hydraulic lifters. The noise frequency increases with RPM's. I brought it to my experienced mechanic. He probed the sound and informed me it wasn't the lifters, but it was the injectors. He said it isn't detrimental to the motor and he wouldn't "worry about it". Is this a common noise with these stock injectors? What has been your experience and what can i do about it.

I guess you could get a stethescope and put it on each injector and listen to see if you hear the same sound... you might be able to do it with just your ear if you get close enough.

Hey bro run some SEAFOAM thru the engine oil for 100 miles and then put some fresh oil in and change the filter. This will clean out all the SEAFOAM, then change the oil again to Mobil 1 0w-40. If u go to the Amsoil website they actually have method for the cleaning of a engine and its recommend steps. But the Amsoil is the same thing as Seafoam but it is 14 beans an yu have to order it.
But only use 1/3 of the bottle in the oil and use the rest in a full tank of gas. U can get this stuff at Autozone for 6 beans.

And if u want to do a slow gradually cleaning u can us AUTO-RX.
