I have made my final return as well....

I will still keep the VWs, and love them, but now I have a piece of my automotive heritage, and I love it!

maybe so.... but I am willing to bet my car doesnt grenade on the dyno at 90 HP....

No douche here... douchebags drive stock 5.0L's with exhaust and underdrive pulleys.... then they try to race any and everything with 4 wheels.... sometimes 2 wheel vehicles also...

Oh ya.... I am pretty sure this car is BGC approved....

Why didn't you get an actual vintage mustang?

You don't walk away from VW's claiming to be moving on to bigger and better things and then go buy a rattle box Fox body Mustang  ::)

FAIL

LOL. I went for a ride in it last night and its got some good power.  I cant imagine it blown.  I like it for what it is, but I told Barry last night, it still doesn't get my blood goin like the sight of a bas ass vw or the feeling of firing up my car. But then again, thats my heritage and what Ive always been around.
At least he didn't sell off his Dubs to go back to the mustang scene. Cant give him too much of a hard time for it. :D

It is a vintage, and unique mustang. The fox bodied mustang resurrected the image of the mustang from damaged reputation from the mustang IIs. The fuelie 302 is a strong motor that takes abuse and modifications well, and the chassis is a decent handler despite being designed in the late 70s. Ford used the chassis from the 70s (I believe the LTD was the first to have it in 76?) to 2004. VW used very similar suspension from the mk1 all the way through to the mk4, so they are not much better. This mustang is also the first of the modern day cobras. Picking an "acutal vintage mustang" this cobra is like picking an oval windowed bug over a 92 16v GTI. They're both neat cars that carry a lot of nostalgia with them, but so do the newer ones. The older ones just need a lot more time, money and effot, while the newer ones you can enjoy quicker. If you think about it Barry did a side step. He owns the best of the last in the generation of two different cars

Looks like fun! Make sure you get up to the Mustang Rally in Steamboat. That alone makes me want a mustang. They always have an auto-x course, cruises and sometimes a dyno. Plus hundreds and hundreds of mustangs from all over the US too of course.

chances of it being there this week are looking pretty slim... I need to replace the U joints and possibly a pilot bearing as well... should be a few nights this week in the garage worth of work, but will be much smoother when I am done...

I drove it to work yesterday and today... will probably jackstand it tomorrow night to get the exhaust and drive shaft out so I can get a better view of the previous owner's work when he installed the new tranny

oh yeah.... and it idle's right at 1000 RPM's after it is warm now... no more of that 1700 RPM bullshit... sounds like it is ready to eat the neighbors kids for breakfast  :)

Man, that looks real nice and clean! And a matching sticker, how cute. Definitely get up to the 'boat, book your hotel now as it fills up super fast and there aren't a whole lot of hotels up there. Plus, some tuner companies always bring their cars up in huge trailers and there's always the real high dollar, super rare cars. Eleanor was even there 1 year.
