Times I've heard this noise something has been touching the pressure plate or the throw out bearing went out. Either way, sounds like it's time to pull the tranny.

Thats what im afraid of ... Sad part is it was just pulled 4k miles ago for a new clutch/flywheel setup. I guess thats what happens when you let small town folks work on a vdub.

Time to do work! .... The car is finally going to make it to the shop. Man i miss my car :(

Hopefully these will fix some of my problems..

Barry I got the axle from Bap ... Matt down there was really cool. Set everything up hassle free. Will do business again.

As for MJMautohaus... I love your prices... but cant stand Juan in parts... He is worthless.

Then i guess Chris will be hearing from me to start putting together my stage 2 kit  ;D

I miss the Springs and need to visit real soon.

Get that thing fixed and get out here soon.  Make sure it is on a dry day, I want a ride in it now that the charger is putting down some pressure. 8)

Anybody ever tried to save a DV? Here is the one that caused all of the headaches taken apart. Looks like it isnt a piston style DV but a diaphragm style. I dont really wanna be a cheap ass but if it is salvageable then why not. Any tips?

Transmission is shot... So im on the hunt for a tranny... I currently have an O2j but hate the way the shift tower works with the plastic clip... Any other solutions?

Anyone got sources on VW parts? Or some good junk yards.. I really hope i can pick one up fairly cheap..

Ouch! :'( Guess it's good incentive to put a diff-bolt kit in, or upgrade to a limited slip, on the next one.

Maybe CL?

Other than that I see a lot of cheap passats, or u-pull in the springs has a passat with a manual. I've got no idea if they'll bolt up, or are even the same thing, as a mk4 vr trans.

How much is it? Might be worth it, but I never liked painted transmissions. Seen a few too many hiding JB Weld fixes that way.

I believe the o2m came in a 5 speed as well. Just had a blank spot where the 6th speed goes. 6 speeds aren't that bad though.

Boner or slownomore (if he's still in this state) might be able to help you. Other than that...? I've rebuilt plenty of t-cases and rwd/4x4 manuals before, but vw likes to throw specialty tools at you a lot on top of the fact they add a differential into the mix. I might be able to help you put one together, but I'd leave that as an absolute last resort seeing how I've never torn apart a fwd trans before. Where's the hole at in the diff of that trans you bought?

To put in a 02M in a mk4 is very easy.

Trans
Axles
Clutch line from master to slave
Cable bracket on trans
Trans mount bracket

Cables and shifter box are the same, master cyl is the same
