Here is the email sent to my from the sales manager at Woodmen Nissan after my visit today.....

Subject: Recent Visit to Woodmen Nissan

Dear Matthew,

I would like to thank you for your recent visit to Woodmen Nissan.  I realize you have many options when buying a vehicle.  We want to assist you in any manner possible in your purchase of a new vehicle.

If there was one thing that prevented you from moving forward today, what would that one thing be? We want to earn your business here at Woodmen Nissan.  Please call me with any questions or concerns you may have regarding your visit.  Thank you for the opportunity and I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Steve Ainsley

.............. .and here is my reply......... ......

Dear Steve,

I appreciate the copy-pasted message you sent me, and I would like to answer your questions. The one thing that is stopping me from purchasing a new vehicle from you (you SHOULD know this from my laughing hysterically when you sent your salesman over to me with numbers) would have to be the $5500 down and nearly $800 a month for the rest of my life "deal" you gave me. I understand you are in the business to make money but seriously? I know I am...........a bit(haha) upside down with my current loan, but I was hoping you would be able to help out with that being as trucks are pretty much going for less than wholesale given the current gas-price predicament, and KBB and NADA have not caught up with that yet. Anywho if you could come down to a more comprehendable price for me I may be interested, but if not I may get another laugh out of it, so at the least your offer will be entertaining for one of us. I really like the truck and wished it could have worked out but I really think the few miles I put on her will be the only time I will be inside her. It's too bad since she's got a great personality and smokin' good looks (she tows like a champ if you know what I mean ;) )  . Maybe a wealthier man will come a long a pick her up as she's going to cost somebody alot of money in the end, and I'm sorry but I just don't go for those kinds of women.

I got a call today from the guy at Woodmen....... .he kept going on about how the email cracked him up. He said he printed it out and showed some of the other guys there that were having a bad day because he found it so funny. Unfortunately humor is not the key to winning at the dealership. Maybe if Osama gets in office and stops all drilling and only buys oil from the country of his religious origin the gas prices will get up to about $8 a gallon and the truck price will drop.......... again. Always a plus side, right?

That's kind of sad. I didn't think it was that funny.

Geez, well I guess they can charge all they want. Probably if people afford 5 dollar a gallon gas they can afford a new Titan. I heard they are about as great as Corvettes (close to the same price eh?)

Sucks man, but the way i see it, fuck em.
