He's pretty much screwed on buying your car. He couldnt get a loan and is broke. Called me to co-sign or pitch $250 towards a mk2. Not something i was willing to do at the time.

he needs to go without a car for a while...or at least get a cheap beater (as in a couple hundred $$)  learn a lesson, get the finances straight, and then go from there. just a thought

Yea, last week he said he wanted my mk2 and would have the money in a week. I think there's a whole lot of cars that he wants and he doesn't know the right way to go about getting them. Oh well, the less I want to sell my GTI the higher the price is going to be.

Now why can you not come up with a grand, or is there an issue with owning an older VW? The great thing about all of these cars is that you can ride down to A1 on the weekend and usually find TONS of parts. Seriously if I had to do it all over again I would of never bought a MKIV. They are nice, but an older one will work just fine. Plus you dont need to finance AND the aftermarket parts arent nearly as expensive. Oh yeah and the older they are, the less it costs to fix.

As in the Porsche? Wow, I didn't think salesguys would let a kid anywhere near the driver's seat of something like that unless they had $100 bills falling out of their pockets.

And saabs are awesome cars. Until something on them breaks. Then, you might as well just go get another car. The early ones also had glass trannies.

That sux, sorry to hear it. I was referring to the mechanical stuff because every part costs a fortune and then every place charges a fortune to install it. They require a lot of saab only tools and are not like normal cars. On the plus side, those swedes really know how to build beasts of a car and the engines typically last forever.

Apparently one of the rear quarter panels was already bashed in and it had other cosmetic damage. Probably was some trust-fund baby's toy car that he traded in on something newer and less abused.
