So, I was looking at a Chrysler Town and Country today picking my kid up from school. It looks quite a bit smaller than the older rounder generations, though I am sure it isn't. It is about the same dimensions as a Dodge Durango. Just lower with smaller tires. It seems to be a bit lower overall profile than previous generations, and the harder lines definitely look less minivan and more crossover.
I would guess that given the size of them, the Routan would look smaller (like the vans 101stVet posted) but were likely Routans on test drives.
Just my two lincolns.
On another note, we are looking for something that can carry at least 7 and gets good mileage (like better than 20).
Our Trooper gets about 15 all the time and we'd like to have the extra seats. We can get an aftermarket 3rd row seat for about a grand, but that doesn't help with the mileage. It seems our options are Volvo XC70, big crossover (like a Ford Flex), or a minivan. She hates minivans, but actually likes the Routan. I like the XC, but it really is small. Like, they feel similar to my Jetta in interior size. Maybe I can get her into a Dub, even if behind the badge, it is a Diamler-Chrysler (hence the "German Engineered minivan").
