pretty good deal, and I am pretty sure you dont need new springs and all... BUT if you do that you might as well spend the money and do the timing chains and get new valve springs and retainers... Hell you also might want to replace all of the PITA parts that are hard to get to that could go bad.... Do the Corrados have crack pipe problems? Also should just go ahead and do the water pump as well.

When was the last time the chains and guides were replaced? Also, do you have a bentley?

OK man... you can replace the camshafts yourself. I would suggest doing the chains and stuff for sure (unless they have been done)

You MUST have a bentley to do this. I dont think you will need any special tools, just you will need all the gaskets that you could damage and you will need the right size Allens and Torx bits.

Lifters wear into the cams they're broken in with. You can reuse them, but it could cause funny and possibly not very desirable wear to the new cams. The valves won't care, but the valve springs might if you have too high of a lift. I thought the cam gears/sprockets were built into the cams, but if not then I don't see why they couldn't be reused.

If I remember correctly... my schrick cam I bought for my old 2.0 didnt come with a cam gear on it. You will have to reuse them pups.

I dont know how many miles you have, but I would get new lifters. the 164's should be cool with the OEM springs. If you want man, write techtonicstuni ng and ask them what they suggest. OR>... search it on vortex  :t-up:
