So i was leaving work today in denver and was heading down peoria to 6th to catch the highway well there was a wreck in the right turn lane so everyone was in the left lane and no one was letting anyone in due to the fact that the light takes so long and just about everyone in the denver area seems to drive like assholes so i was cruzing slow looking for a spot to jump in oh yea i was on my motorcyle and i still couldn't find a spot to wedge in well i finally found a spot and was getting over when this cop jumps out of his crusier cussing me out telling me to pull over so i did and as i'm trying to take my helmet off his telling me that i could have caused a accident and that i'm being a dick for passing all those peps blah blah blah so he takes my license and reg and runs it well i know he got nothing but my name due to the fact my wife is a sheriff in cali and my info is secured but he tells me he dosent have time to deal with me and to leave so i ask why i was pulled over he says if i want he can have another car come out and we can go to the station and talk about what i did

so i said yea call another car out i want to talk to him about how your harrasing me but anyway i got off with nothing since he had nothing on me i just wanted to vent pissed me off something ugly almost as bad as the chp

That sucks. I see nothing you did as wrong.

As much as I hate seeing people that speed all the way passed everyone to merge in at the last minute, there's nothing illegal about it(aside from the speeding part). I've even been known to do it myself. If they wanted you to merge earlier, they should place a patrol car farther up the roadway.

Realistically, the fastest way for traffic to move in a situation like that is for everyone to use up both lanes and alternate cars where the lanes merge. But, knowing the mindset of the average driver and how everyone wants to be in front and refuses to let others in, that's never going to happen.

Which in turn fucks up the flow of merging. Creates a 2 mile long back-up rather than a 1/2 mile long one.

BULLSHIT

If you know for instance that 2 lanes merge into 1... ie the left lane due to construction or whatever... all you have to do is merge plenty early when you can still do it without disrupting the flow of traffic that is ALREADY in the correct lane.
It's the people who see a 3 mile line of cars in the left lane that try to drive all the way to the front (apparently because they think they are special) and then cut in that totally fuck up the flow.

Then you're taking that line and doubling it's length. Not to mention that said line won't be moving very fast either.

What slows down traffic the most is people not allowing others to merge. That's what causes a situation like you describe where people are forced to make one line when two would work just fine.

That said, I am one who merges over as soon as I can 95% of the time, but I don't agree that it's always the best way to do it. I just do it to keep from being "that asshole".

well i wasn't speeding barely going 5 mph and i also try and get over and not be that asshole but at the same time my motorcycle vs a car,truck that dosent want to let me over isn't something i want to try cause then they allways stop right on your ass and i was hit once due to that. And as to the punctuation comment learn to read with out it or read another fucking post this isnt english class last time i fucking checked but what ever i guess i'm a retard cause i don't use it in my post blah blah blah blah blah blah u can suck it

Went down to the station today to have a talk with the officer and his LT with my wife who is a sheriff and he said he was sry and was stressed out at the time and took it out on me so i guess not so bad after all or just covering his ass your guess is as good as mine.

You want to get all angry and fired up over someone asking you to press a few keys that don't have letters on them? It is about being able to have your thoughts come across on the screen in a way that makes sense to those that are reading it.

Take a deep breath and think about it from the viewpoint of everyone else trying to read what you are writing! I don't use "proper" punctuation all the time either... <-- pretty sure three dots was not covered in English class, but the physical separation of your words/ thoughts really does help it make more sense!!

Well, in the quality schools in the south, we covered the "three dots", also known as an ellipsis. We were even taught that it meant there is an unfinished thought or that some more thought may be continued.

Now that class is over, Scott's thought here is true. No one still around here (Lindsey's not too active anymore) plays the part of Grammar Police. It just makes it easier for us to follow your thoughts if there is the occasional pause. Punctuation implies that pause. With that punctuation, we can spend less time going "WTF?!?" and spend more time going "Dude, that is some jacked up stuff!!!"

Just a thought...

well i get pretty fired up , i also had a pretty f'ed up time in school's i.e. first 10 years of my life i was forced to be right handed and spoke only german , then i came to the states and was able to left handed and was in and out of juvie i was a bad kid . Then i went to a trade school didn't really focus on anything other then math and construction trades then joined the army so my grammer is most diffently crap along with my spelling. But why does one have to be the " grammer police " why can't one stay in there own lane or send a private message instead of throwing that shit out on the screen .
