Hanging out at the ski hill, as usual.

$40 for Gen admin? I was seriously thinking about taking Jen to this until I saw that! I'd pay up to $50 for the two of us but not $80.

Ski Hill - 10,900ft. It's across from the "Map Legend". I always camped at Devils Playground myself.

Damn, I've lived here all my life and have never once made it to the Hill Climb.  Used to be tougher though when it was on July 4th.

Won't make it this year either, leaving to New Mexico for the weekend on Friday morning.  Sucks too, I had wanted to check out the Fan Fest they will have downtown Friday night.

http://www.ppihc.com/content.aspx?tabid=6&contentid=179  Not much info there, but the Gazette had something about it last week.

Tejon Street between Kiowa and Colorado

On a different note, I also kind of wanted to see Billy Bob Thornton at the Thirsty Parrot Friday night, and I'd have liked to go to Denver for the Mile High Music Fest.  Just a bad wekend to have a family reunion I guess.

So, I still missed Ski Area when I looked at the map.  Good thing I invested in a GPS for traveling  ::)

I'll be at Devil's Playground on Sunday.  Hopefully the weather is good, I went to the peak on Monday and it was snowing.

Lady at the front gate asked if I was gonna race my way up.  ::) lol

It was a lot of fun. The last I heard was that the co-driver was being transported to a Denver hospital...

Is it me, or does the boot on the turbo look like a 16v VW intake boot?

It's weird seeing that road paved now. I'm used to seeing cars going sideways around those corners.

no that's not the car.  that's lisa klassen's evo.  she's a solo driver.  the car that crashed was nate and brandye conley.  they were in a yellow subie wagon.

900+ photos to sort through, almost 4gigs worth. I still have some to go through and edit, but here are some to start it off.

The vintage cars:

The bikes:

The trucks:

The cars:

The crash:
this guy high-centered on his tranny. He sure took it well though. I don't think I could stand there that calmly if I just crashed in front of hundreds of people on a race like that.

The only car I really wanted to get a good shot of and I fubar it. Monster was a force of nature though. No one even came close to how fast and beautifully he came up and around our hairpin. That man's driving is an art form in itself.

The diesel trucks:
I now love these things, they are awesome!

Like I said, just a few for now...

Things to bring next year:
 - sunscreen
 - radio
 - tent (way preferable to 42 hrs no sleep)
 - second camera body
 - paintball gun to shoot the next jerk who decides to show up drinking
 - tire deflator so that said jerk can't drive home drunk
