98 VR6 Gti engine swap, vr6 cluster, VR6 Drivetrain with everything, Obd2 compatible, including smog stuff. mk3 plus suspension. Re-upholstered power recaro trophies, mint interior, borla exhaust, bilsteins sports, sport springs, rear tie bar, working AC

Swap was done by BlackSheep in Las Vegas,  fugee's old ride.

They say it's a clean install.

I was messing around with the rack on the mk2 because I have a big problem with the bike rack on the touareg.

No rack

With Rack

She came with bilstein sports and neuspeed springs = the green kind... dunno if they're race springs but they sit pretty low. I think I need to stiffen up the motor mounts because when I hit the corner a little hard something is scrapping on the front passenger side.  Don't they bang on the chassis to make clearance on the right side of the engine... I think that is what it is.

Interior is so so, new headliner. tropies are newly reupholstered but power is not connected. cheap speaker  on the door,  and rear parcel. blaupunk cd player.

Car pull mad but the p.o. had a 2"  round straight thru resonator installed in the middle before exiting thru the 2.5" borla. I love how the TT exhaust on the corrado sounded( 2 borla muffler without resonator).

How hard is it to install a mk3 dash?

The mkII VR swaps I have seen have a section of the framerail hammered in to clear the crank pulley...

A good thread for inspiration, and a good forum to belong to :t-up:

Still a very sharp looking mkII man... If you were interested in coils, check out VMAXX coilovers... Nate is running them on his mkII xflow turbo...

http://www.stratmosphere.com/vmaxx1.htm

$599 for a complete set of coilovers...

Yeah I've  been on DZ back in 2005 but it was kinda slow...

I looked under and the rail was definitely hammered in... I'm guessing the mounts.

How does the vmaxx ride like?.

FK's having a sale too $550,... but no damping adjustments http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3907036

How does the vmaxx ride like?.

like most non-dampening adjustable coilovers... firm/stiff.  i really like them though especially for the price plus they go really low.

yeah the vmaxx and the new fk's are soo damn tempting for the price...even cheaper than a shock n springs setup.

stock cams. & non-chipped. I'll probably take the FI route right away or sort out the suspension... Although going FI will give a huge grin factor and the car is already on bilsteins n neuspeeds but needs to go lower.  So far I'm deciding if I will slam it and get nicer wheels... or go FI now...

I've got FKs on my mk2 and I actually like them more than the vmaxxs on my mk5. A little smoother ride. They look like they'll go pretty low but I rub like a mofo with the wheel/tire setup I have right now spun about 3/4 down. There's always the "helper" springs that can be taken out to get a little lower.

They say that the fk's has shorter shock bodies unlike the vmaxx's.

Really nice pictures, I actually visited BlackSheep while I was at Wustefest for the BBQ. Had to fix my car in their shop, pretty cool guys. Allowed us to use their tools. At any rate, car is beautiful.
