Need a good home
« on: April 05, 2008, 01:06:05 PM »

As some of you know I got Chase from Barry through some "events." At the time it was either my home or life (not really) in colorado springs fine humane society. ::) I didn't have much to offer him but it was better than the alternative. Work is keeping both me and Jen away from home more and more each day and we don't have the ability to give him the attention that he deserves and needs. I really hate to do this because he's been the best dog I've ever seen, but I just can't give Chase the home he needs. If any of you know of some good people that are looking for a dog please help me. He had a crappy time of life a couple of months ago and I don't want to repeat "that" all over again by going through craigs list.

LOS... time for a dog dude

If I got home before 7pm from work, if I had a larger house, and if I had a large enough yard he would be perfect. Thing is the life that we can provide for him isn't perfect for what he needs.

LOS, you can even get the kegerator with Chase. ;)

He's 3 years old and a rottweiler mix. Not sure what else is in him.

Let me think about it, as I wanna get a dog but I feel like Im not ready to pull the trigger yet.  Especially since I just got a bike and Im going to be out riding alot.  I dont get home much earlier than you do so Im not sure how much better his life would be at my house.

That poor dog has been through too much in the last 4 months... I wish we could take him back, but you all know that story

Dont be so indecisive...

Uhhhhhh ... this is Carlos we're talking about here.  You can't expect him to make a decision like this in less than 6 months.. even when something's free it requires a lengthy decision matrix and approval process.

STOP ENCOURAGING HIM. Chase was a pain in the ass anyways. Just think of all vet bills and food and shit. Plus all the times you are away from the house going camping, skiing, going on trips(chicago's, treffen's etc) and Chase is an attention needy dog too. And he smells.

Well I put up with you and you smell, need cleaning up after, and are always bitching about something!  :D

Its not that Im being indecisive... Im being cautious... Its not a commitment I take lightly and if I were to pick up a dog its a long term decision. Thats why Im not sure.

No one from the club wanted him. I've been holding off a CL ad until I get my wrist injuries taken care of.

Yea he's still here. Can't take him on walks right now though.

I screwed up both wrists and hands swinging hammers, using picks and shovels and a variety of other things that my job requires. They finally gave out swinging a pick and it flew out of my hands. Since then I haven't been able to do much of anything that requires my hands and when I do I have to wear wrist splints. It kinda sucks watching a cup of coffee fall out of your grasp and you can't do a thing to stop it. I have tendonitus and distal radial ulnata separation in both hands/wrists (a bone in my forearms is separating from my wrists).

If you have a pic I'd like to see it. To help put my wife on the fence about getting a dog. She said when we get into a house. Well now we are.

When we first brought him home:

Alittle bit older:

Full grown:

And if this doesnt win your wife over, well...

Chase is an amazing indoor dog for his size. He is about as mellow as it gets. Trust me when I say he got all of his normal house breaking habits kicked to the curb when we had him. I think Chris can atest that he is perfect when it comes to not chewing on things, or soiling in the house. He is a 3 year old Rott / shep mix.

I will let Chris chime in, because he has had Chase for the last few months, and will back up everything I mentioned

Thanks for the pics Barry.

Chase is one of the best behaved dogs I've ever seen. He listens well and is very affectionate. The only issue's I had with him going in the house was when he had kennel cough, but he was super sick then. He just needs a bigger house/yard with people that don't work all of the time.

I've got no idea. I go in to see the doctor for the third time next week.
