Its probably going to be pretty busy this weekend but Im down. My sister wants to go for the first time so I think schoolmarm is where I'll be most of the day.

The kid and I will be down for Sat. Normally, Carlos and I leave around 7 (on the road by then). I would actually like to leave a little bit earlier and be off of the moutian by 2:00 and on the road by 2:30 as traffic on 70 sucks if is any later than that.

I propose we meet at the Diamond Shamrock on I25 and Baptist at 7 AM...

I usually leave earlier then that, but I can meet at 7 if it is on the highway on the way up

If we all meet at hwy 24 and 21 st at the van briggle parking lot that will actually be best. That way we just head up 24 and cruise thru breck and get to keystone the back way. No stop and go bs on 70 and we will get there in less time. It takes 2 hrs to get from breck to the springs... then about 20 mins to 30 from breck to key. Im tired of fucking around on 70.

And my sister wants me to teach her to board, so it will be first time on a board. Hopefully after one run, she'll be sufficient enought that I can go sneak a few runs in on the back side. I think carpooling will be best. I have room for 1 person as my sister is bringing a friend too, so I'll drive the truck.

I don't know why people who live in the Springs don't go that way every time. I've usually always had better weather(Hoosier Pass being the only tough part occasionally), and never see traffic. It's slower(65mph speed limit), but more scenic and relaxing.

I go that way whenever I can but most of my trips involve meeting up with family in Denver, so I usually spend the night there and drive up I-70 at 6:30-7 to avoid the early traffic.

I'd like to catch a trip up there with you guys sometime this season, but this weekend might not be it. I've been in the mountains for the past 3 weekends and I think I need to spend one at home. Granted, if we get a good storm, I may reconsider.

Yeah its seriously quicker with all the bs traffic. Distance wise its closer too. Its 152 miles from my house to breck going up 70. Yet on 24 its 106. Almost 50 miles less, and eventhough the speedlimit is lower, the flow of traffic is still about 75...

Where have you been going the past few weekends? Im usually up there every weekend.

I stayed in Breck 3wks ago for the snow sculptures. I only got in 2 runs or so that Sunday at Keystone. My parents and an aunt and uncle stayed up there too and went up the gondola with me. I snuck in a few runs while they drank hot cocoa.

Since then, I've been at A-Basin. With that new back bowl open, it seems to be the place to go. I've also been taking some runs on Loveland Pass lately as well. Some great snow up there right now.

just go, get some drugs and make good use of that broken body you call legs. Even if you dont hit the moutian, you can at least drink as people come down, anyways you leave soon so it will be a good time reguardless.
