No shit man.  Seriously pat, i've never met you, but you have been talkin a lot of shit about the club lately.

Lately, a lot?  Define lately and a lot because I think you're grossly exagerating both terms based on a couple posts

Quote
Not to mention that all the lowlife drama and bullshit killed a good portion of it, as well as the fact that certain people left, or fairly never show up to gtg's, because of other drama.

Who's fault is that?  Certainly not mine
I suppose we can do the easy thing and just blame me though right...
1. Because I tried telling you guys that it was going to happen
2. Because I'm not afraid to call those guys out by name as being part of the reason why we're having this discussion in the first place.... meaning that 719 is dwindling away

Quote
The problem is the vast majority of your posts are extremely negative, regardless of what they're about, and it tends to grate on people.
Again I think you are stretching things here a bit.  "extremely" ?

Again not trying to toot my own horn but I'd going out on a limb here and say I'm one of a handful of people who post on this site that actually contributes any real VW/Audi or technical content on a regular basis.  You saying the "vast majority" and "extremely negative" is honestly a little bit more than reality.
If you think I'm wrong then prove me wrong.  Every single one of my posts can be searched.  Take the time and look through them.

Most of you probably don't remember but there was a time when 719 used to dominate pretty much anything that was happening in Colorado .. whether it be rolling together as a group to a show or crashing a Denver GTG every couple months.  I'm not trying to take away from anyone that is actively trying to make shit happen now.  That's a good thing, and yes I know it's winter now. But as I "jokingly" stated in one my vast majority of my extremely negative posts .. it's seems like it's been winter around 719 for two years straight.

If you all would stop taking my few random comments as negativity and realize that I'm just trying to kick you guys in gear we'd all have a better day.  Hell I miss the hell out of 719 .. the last thing I would intentially try to do is destroy it ... like some other people have done in the past (you do the math)
Of course eventually this discussion will take a turn for the worst and like always.  Everyone will point the finger and Scott and I because it's the easy way out.  You've all seen it before.

Also..I'll gladly discuss this with anyone via Private Message .. do me a favor though.  Don't PM me..ranting and raving.. .and then not have to courtesy to respond back to me after I answer you  ::)

Oh and look here .. .seems I'm not the only one that thinks something is "lacking"

PillowPants makes some good points in that thread. And in general, I have to agree with Pat's last post. However, I'm finding the whole discussion quite entertaining!

Pat, your wit and sarcasm and take no bs attitude are things that many 'net monkeys try to fake in text but you actually act in RL the way you do online and I think it's super amusing to read. Slappy McFuckstick, classic!  ;D   I've always had a lot of respect for you, not for your cars but because you're fiercely loyal to your friends, you take charge and get shit done when it needs to be and if someone fucks up, you can always be counted on to kick them in the nuts and tell them they fucked up, rather than patting them on the head and telling them it'll be better next time.

Now that my small ode to Pat is out of the way, which is in no way relevant at all to anything in this thread, on with the show!

Ok, i will admit, i definitely exaggerated, but grossly, no.

I find it odd that you're assuming blame was laid on you for that happening? That was not intended, nor implied in that statement.  I was simply citing many reasons as to why the club has taken a nosedive recently.  Why also do you feel the need to play the "I told you so" card, does it make you feel better or something? I'm very glad you will call people on their bullshit, its one of the things i try to do, i think you're just a bit more cynical in how you approach it.  Another problem we have is that a lot of the "old school" guys, the ones who knew how to set up shows, and judge, etc etc, left the club, or are out of the state, now its up to us fledgling guys to figure shit out for ourselves.

Ok, i'll concede on this, extremely was a bad choice, as was vast.  But you do have to admit, your posts generally aren't sunshine and daisies.

I don't really need, not a matter of proving my point.  The only thing i want to say on this; how do you define "real" audi/vw content.  That was one of my biggest points of contention with people like kord.  If it wasn't MKI or MKII, heavily modified, or air cooled, then it was utterly unimportant.  Some people are just as into vw's as those guys but don't have the money nor the time to invest into projects of that nature, it gets really old being viewed as such because you dont roll in a slammed MKI GTI with LM's.  One of the reasons i like Carlos, Nate, and Scott (and Anne for that matter) so much is because they never pulled that shit with the new people.  Again, i've not met you in person, so i can't say how you would have been in those situations.

I caught the very tail end of that, i think it was datr 06 was the first "real" show i went to, and from what i gathered from talking to others, it wasn't really anything like before.  I agree with you on the Denver GTG thing though, we really need to start doing that, D-town people already basically think nothing of COS, we should start showing them up.

There's that negativity shit i was talking about.  I think most of us, maybe Giggidy excepted, understand you're trying to kick us in the proverbial ass.  The problem is how you're approaching it.  Think if you're a kid, and you get a bad grade, as a father would it be best to say "you would be doing better if you werent lazy, and you actually tried, i guess its nothing new for the past couple of years for you right...", or, "well lets see what we can do to try harder next time, here are some things i did when i was strugglinh, " or whatever.  You get my point.  Try some positive reinforcement.

The point is things are getting better, when i first "came back" after my ~5month hiatus, i would show up to the GTG area and there would be noone, then about 2 weeks later there was a couple people, then a few weeks later it was better, now its generally 8-12 people out there, and considering our spot is tore the fuck up and its cold as all hell, i dont think thats all too bad.

I skipped the last 10,000 words of this post.... I am guessing it is the same as the last 52 times a topic like this has come up, but I am not about to waste my time reading it.

Just do what you want to do and let everyone else do what they want to do and in the end everyone is happy!

I don't care who is friends with who, and I don't care if your 5th grade teacher can eat twinkies, and I don't care about any of the other inane high school drama being perpetuated by threads like this. Everyone should act like a grown-up and POST like a grown-up and things would be easier!

I will say one other thing... for people who are not in C-Springs, this website serves as their source of info on what we are doing. If no one chooses to add content, and no one chooses to report on regular activites of the group, would it not be a fair assumption on their part to say that NOTHING is gonig on?? The answer to that question is a resounding yes, and you simply cannot argue that fact.

I would like to see one or two of you (or more) actually take an active role in this website (and the group in general) so that I can step the hell out of the way and just enjoy it.
