This is for Patty cakes - new Kia design leaked!

Quote from: Autoblog
Kia probably was hoping not to unveil every nook and cranny of its new Borrego SUV (called Mohave in Korea) this way, but the internet is a cruel mistress and it just goes to show that you shouldn't park your new SUV on a red carpet in public if you don't want people taking pictures of it. These snapshots of Kia's new SUV from every angle inside and out have surfaced on Kia-World.net, which you can view in the gallery below. It's a sharp looking vehicle, though still a body-on-frame SUV. As we've mentioned previously, a full-size SUV will be a tough sell for Kia in this CUV-crazed market. The Borrego will be armed with a V6 (a 3.0L unit according to badging on this particular vehicle) and the brand's first V8, however, and promises excellent NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) levels for an SUV. Shots of the undercarriage also reveal what appears to be an air suspension to help cushion the ride, and the interior includes such upscale options as Kia's first nav system. Like most recent products from Kia and its parent company Hyundai, the Borrego looks like a contender in every respect, and will no doubt carry a price tag that's too low for shoppers not to at least consider. The full reveal will happen at the Detroit Auto Show in January, and we'll be on hand to relay all of the official details on Kia's first full-size SUV.

I wonder if they sell the cars so low because they don't have any real designers. I bet they just use interns or something. All of their vehicles look like they ripped off whatever similar vehicle was popular at the time. Not that I can, it looks like an awesome SUV and with the features listed will still probably be cheaper than most anything comparable in base form.

Actually bro the ones that they looked like they have copied in the states they usually have been in production in Korea for quite some time already. I bet a few guys here on this forum have seen some crazy ass cars over in Korea that haven't been introduced in the US yet. I know I definitely saw some wierd shit over there!

Aw, don't be too hard with him. You with the Kia and Scott with the repair abilities are all that a lot of people here have to go on. If someone else had some big fat well publized button like you 2, I'm sure they'd be getting crap too. Someday, maybe things will get back to normal, where everyone is picking on Scott about sweatpants and you about crazy imported wives. Although you bring a lot of it on yourself, Mr. Official Champion and Posterboy of Kia.

I guess I just don't like it when somebody who hasn't been around in years constantly slams all club related things even when alott of the members are trying. How can you sit there from thousands of miles away and judge what happens here when you don't even know? And yeah you do seem to be the posterboy of Kia for some strange reason. I've been trying to ignore your posts but no matter how hard I try they stick out like a sore thumb. You can go ahead and try to make me look dumb........yo u've never even met me.

P.S. Don't you ever delete my posts or edit my profile again.

Do I go into threads and bash VW's, Audi's, etc and claim that Kia's are better?  NO I do not.
News Flash ... I didn't start this thread about Kia's.  I just responded to it.  There are plenty of 719 members here that own brands other than VW/Audi .. and they occasionally talk about them on here.  I don't see anyone getting upset because people are talking about 4 wheeling etc.. in Toyota's, Jeeps...blah blah you get the picture.  1 or 2 posts a month made by me talking about Kia's isn't harming you or anyone else that reads these forums.

okay time out.

matt, quit being a retard.  just like you said, pat hasn't ever met you and you've never met pat.  so why do you constantly talk shit about someone you've never met?  you don't know pat outside of these forums and you really have no room to say a thing.

i can talk shit about pat and nappy because i know them.  i can rag on pat about his crazy ex-wife because i've actually met his crazy ex-wife.  i can make fun of nappy and his desire to race the silver state classic in his bad ass taurass wagon because i was here when he talked about it.  i can't however make fun of nappy's flywheel falling off because he didn't use loc-tite because i wasn't around when it happened.  it's just a general rule to not talk shit about stuff that happened way before you ever came around here.  they know i'm joking and they talk shit to me and it's cool.  i don't think you've even met nappy.  either way, i suggest you stay outta shit you weren't ever involved in.

pat, quit being a retard.  you bought a fucking kia for fuck's sake and you're on a vw 'enthusiast' web forum.  did you think you wouldn't get flamed?  don't worry about some newb who has stepped out of line.  you're gunna get shit from here on out no matter what you do.

either way, both of you need to play nice.  don't make me cock slap you both.  ;)

Duh ... I don't really mind people talking shit about it ...in fact to me it's funny in most instances.
I mean come on dude..I'm not trying to toot my own horn here but I did own a pretty damn hooked up R32.  I could give a fuck about somebody with a busted ass Audi A4 making jokes about me owning a Kia that I actually bought to serve a very specific purpose.
At the same time when the majority of Slappy Fuckstick's posts on a daily basis are to talk shit about me owning a Kia it get's a bit old.  It would be one thing if I were on this VW "enthusiast" site bashing VW's as a Kia owner.  But I'm not.
I've more than proven my worthiness in this scene/whatever it is based on my past VW ownership. I don't need some e-forum supertuner talking shit about me everytime I log on this forum.

since everyone else posts from across the fuckin globe.... why not? Pat, you mention Matt's constant bashin of your Kia ownage.... sounds quite similar to the constant club bashing that you've become famous for of late....

Nate, from what I've read, Matt hasn't been talking crap about Pat in the good ol' days.... but instead has been blatantly being a fart-knocker about him owning a Kia and always bashing the club.... shit, even I commented about Pats attitude towards the current state of the club (who hasn't)...

I do agree however that someone should not pass judgment about someone based on heresy or jump on the bandwagon in regards to past events/stories.

Now speakin of 'other than VW/Audi cars'..... Jenn actually likes that Kia and I'm sure it wouldn't be a bad buy with ALL those options... shit, we have a Chrysler Pacifica for fuck's sake (granted, we got a $25k car for $16k, but that's beside the point).

Pat, Nate's got a point, the Kia ownage will grant you crap within a VW crowd... but who gives a fuck, right! You're KIA serves you and purpose much like our Pacifica...

on another note.... Nate, what's your number/email addy? I've got a buddy at my new command thats got an INSANELY modded '99 Mustang that is interested in water/meth.... he's already gotten like 23 full sponsorships for his car  :t-up:

Sure I occasionally throw in a smart ass remark of what seems to be nothing going on with 719 anymore.
I would have thought by now that someone would have figured it out ... the only outcome I hoped to get from a smartass remark was possibly some kind of motivation on your guys' part to make something out of 719.
I've got a lot of sweat equity in 719 and getting it started etc... it's kind of a let down to hear that people rarely even get excited about attending GTG's and such.
When's the last time someone posted a pic of the lineup from a weekly GTG?  I remember back when we used to have 30 plus cars on a regular basis.
If I'm totally missing the mark then by all means someone take pics and post them like once a quarter or something to keep people like me from saying you guys suck at doing things as a group  ;D
Nobody owes me (or anyone else) pics.. but you know maybe if some of us old timers saw that the flame was still burning every now and then we wouldn't be so disappointed in what seems to be a total lack of enthusiam about this whole 719 thing.
I don't dislike anyone here ...even Slappy Fuckstick because I don't even know him really... if you take my smartass remarks at hate or dislike then you're taking them totally out of context.  Believe me all the people that I dislike no longer associate with 719 .. you do the math on that one  ;D

When is the last time 719 did something as a group on a large scale outside of a weekly GTG ... (more than like 2-3 cars/people) ?

Anyway this horse was beat to death too many times.  Take what I'm saying for what it's worth and have a nice evening

No shit man.  Seriously pat, i've never met you, but you have been talkin a lot of shit about the club lately.  Some of us have tried to get shit going.  I scheduled a drive, and 3 of us made it on it, and good times were had by all (I now consider Dave (scurvy) to be a pretty damn good friend because of it).  The issue right now is that there just aren't that many people in the club that are in state.  Not to mention that all the lowlife drama and bullshit killed a good portion of it, as well as the fact that certain people left, or fairly never show up to gtg's, because of other drama.  Lets not even get into the whole Chad fiasco... Other people have been dealing with other shit, like children being close to born, or preparing for marriage, shit like that.

Basically its been the same group of people out there at GTG's every night.  I fully intend to start kickin some ass and getting drives put together come summer, because to some extent you're right, there hasnt been much going on.  The problem is the vast majority of your posts are extremely negative, regardless of what they're about, and it tends to grate on people.  Now i'm not taking sides, i know Matt in RL and he is a pretty decent guy, huge shit talker, but the vast majority of the time its all in good fun. I've always gotten the same vibe from you, but seriously, both of you need to chill the fuck out.

No shit man.  Seriously pat, i've never met you, but you have been talkin a lot of shit about the club lately.

Lately, a lot?  Define lately and a lot because I think you're grossly exagerating both terms based on a couple posts

Quote
Not to mention that all the lowlife drama and bullshit killed a good portion of it, as well as the fact that certain people left, or fairly never show up to gtg's, because of other drama.

Who's fault is that?  Certainly not mine
I suppose we can do the easy thing and just blame me though right...
1. Because I tried telling you guys that it was going to happen
2. Because I'm not afraid to call those guys out by name as being part of the reason why we're having this discussion in the first place.... meaning that 719 is dwindling away

Quote
The problem is the vast majority of your posts are extremely negative, regardless of what they're about, and it tends to grate on people.
Again I think you are stretching things here a bit.  "extremely" ?

Again not trying to toot my own horn but I'd going out on a limb here and say I'm one of a handful of people who post on this site that actually contributes any real VW/Audi or technical content on a regular basis.  You saying the "vast majority" and "extremely negative" is honestly a little bit more than reality.
If you think I'm wrong then prove me wrong.  Every single one of my posts can be searched.  Take the time and look through them.

Most of you probably don't remember but there was a time when 719 used to dominate pretty much anything that was happening in Colorado .. whether it be rolling together as a group to a show or crashing a Denver GTG every couple months.  I'm not trying to take away from anyone that is actively trying to make shit happen now.  That's a good thing, and yes I know it's winter now. But as I "jokingly" stated in one my vast majority of my extremely negative posts .. it's seems like it's been winter around 719 for two years straight.

If you all would stop taking my few random comments as negativity and realize that I'm just trying to kick you guys in gear we'd all have a better day.  Hell I miss the hell out of 719 .. the last thing I would intentially try to do is destroy it ... like some other people have done in the past (you do the math)
Of course eventually this discussion will take a turn for the worst and like always.  Everyone will point the finger and Scott and I because it's the easy way out.  You've all seen it before.

Also..I'll gladly discuss this with anyone via Private Message .. do me a favor though.  Don't PM me..ranting and raving.. .and then not have to courtesy to respond back to me after I answer you  ::)

Oh and look here .. .seems I'm not the only one that thinks something is "lacking"

PillowPants makes some good points in that thread. And in general, I have to agree with Pat's last post. However, I'm finding the whole discussion quite entertaining!

Pat, your wit and sarcasm and take no bs attitude are things that many 'net monkeys try to fake in text but you actually act in RL the way you do online and I think it's super amusing to read. Slappy McFuckstick, classic!  ;D   I've always had a lot of respect for you, not for your cars but because you're fiercely loyal to your friends, you take charge and get shit done when it needs to be and if someone fucks up, you can always be counted on to kick them in the nuts and tell them they fucked up, rather than patting them on the head and telling them it'll be better next time.

Now that my small ode to Pat is out of the way, which is in no way relevant at all to anything in this thread, on with the show!

Lately, a lot?  Define lately and a lot because I think you're grossly exagerating both terms based on a couple posts

Ok, i will admit, i definitely exaggerated, but grossly, no.

Quote
Who's fault is that?  Certainly not mine
I suppose we can do the easy thing and just blame me though right...
1. Because I tried telling you guys that it was going to happen
2. Because I'm not afraid to call those guys out by name as being part of the reason why we're having this discussion in the first place.... meaning that 719 is dwindling away

I find it odd that you're assuming blame was laid on you for that happening? That was not intended, nor implied in that statement.  I was simply citing many reasons as to why the club has taken a nosedive recently.  Why also do you feel the need to play the "I told you so" card, does it make you feel better or something? I'm very glad you will call people on their bullshit, its one of the things i try to do, i think you're just a bit more cynical in how you approach it.  Another problem we have is that a lot of the "old school" guys, the ones who knew how to set up shows, and judge, etc etc, left the club, or are out of the state, now its up to us fledgling guys to figure shit out for ourselves.

Quote
Again I think you are stretching things here a bit.  "extremely" ?
Ok, i'll concede on this, extremely was a bad choice, as was vast.  But you do have to admit, your posts generally aren't sunshine and daisies.

Quote
Again not trying to toot my own horn but I'd going out on a limb here and say I'm one of a handful of people who post on this site that actually contributes any real VW/Audi or technical content on a regular basis.  You saying the "vast majority" and "extremely negative" is honestly a little bit more than reality.
If you think I'm wrong then prove me wrong.  Every single one of my posts can be searched.  Take the time and look through them.

I don't really need, not a matter of proving my point.  The only thing i want to say on this; how do you define "real" audi/vw content.  That was one of my biggest points of contention with people like kord.  If it wasn't MKI or MKII, heavily modified, or air cooled, then it was utterly unimportant.  Some people are just as into vw's as those guys but don't have the money nor the time to invest into projects of that nature, it gets really old being viewed as such because you dont roll in a slammed MKI GTI with LM's.  One of the reasons i like Carlos, Nate, and Scott (and Anne for that matter) so much is because they never pulled that shit with the new people.  Again, i've not met you in person, so i can't say how you would have been in those situations.

Quote
Most of you probably don't remember but there was a time when 719 used to dominate pretty much anything that was happening in Colorado .. whether it be rolling together as a group to a show or crashing a Denver GTG every couple months.  I'm not trying to take away from anyone that is actively trying to make shit happen now.  That's a good thing, and yes I know it's winter now. But as I "jokingly" stated in one my vast majority of my extremely negative posts .. it's seems like it's been winter around 719 for two years straight.

I caught the very tail end of that, i think it was datr 06 was the first "real" show i went to, and from what i gathered from talking to others, it wasn't really anything like before.  I agree with you on the Denver GTG thing though, we really need to start doing that, D-town people already basically think nothing of COS, we should start showing them up.

Quote
If you all would stop taking my few random comments as negativity and realize that I'm just trying to kick you guys in gear we'd all have a better day.  Hell I miss the hell out of 719 .. the last thing I would intentially try to do is destroy it ... like some other people have done in the past (you do the math)
Of course eventually this discussion will take a turn for the worst and like always.  Everyone will point the finger and Scott and I because it's the easy way out.  You've all seen it before.

There's that negativity shit i was talking about.  I think most of us, maybe Giggidy excepted, understand you're trying to kick us in the proverbial ass.  The problem is how you're approaching it.  Think if you're a kid, and you get a bad grade, as a father would it be best to say "you would be doing better if you werent lazy, and you actually tried, i guess its nothing new for the past couple of years for you right...", or, "well lets see what we can do to try harder next time, here are some things i did when i was strugglinh, " or whatever.  You get my point.  Try some positive reinforcement.

Quote
Also..I'll gladly discuss this with anyone via Private Message .. do me a favor though.  Don't PM me..ranting and raving.. .and then not have to courtesy to respond back to me after I answer you  ::)

Oh and look here .. .seems I'm not the only one that thinks something is "lacking"
http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3573337

The point is things are getting better, when i first "came back" after my ~5month hiatus, i would show up to the GTG area and there would be noone, then about 2 weeks later there was a couple people, then a few weeks later it was better, now its generally 8-12 people out there, and considering our spot is tore the fuck up and its cold as all hell, i dont think thats all too bad.

I skipped the last 10,000 words of this post.... I am guessing it is the same as the last 52 times a topic like this has come up, but I am not about to waste my time reading it.

Just do what you want to do and let everyone else do what they want to do and in the end everyone is happy!

I don't care who is friends with who, and I don't care if your 5th grade teacher can eat twinkies, and I don't care about any of the other inane high school drama being perpetuated by threads like this. Everyone should act like a grown-up and POST like a grown-up and things would be easier!

I will say one other thing... for people who are not in C-Springs, this website serves as their source of info on what we are doing. If no one chooses to add content, and no one chooses to report on regular activites of the group, would it not be a fair assumption on their part to say that NOTHING is gonig on?? The answer to that question is a resounding yes, and you simply cannot argue that fact.

I would like to see one or two of you (or more) actually take an active role in this website (and the group in general) so that I can step the hell out of the way and just enjoy it.
