Just a picture a day thread. For Point n Shoot and Dslr Photography hobbyist buffs or not. I always find myself shooting a lot of pictures and thought I should step it up and pick up a Dslr and get a life.

Nice shot.

Yeah the smiley face was something I noticed after the fact, but I felt it just complimented her.

Thanks. A Nikon D200 with either a Sigma 28-80 macro or a Nikon 80-200 f2.8

Depends. That picture with the tree was shot with 18mm focal length 8sec F/3.5 on manual mode. But it would be easier with the shutter priority mode. Still learning though and I need to pick up a book or something but I still need to get my composing rule of the third act straighten.

Pick up Understanding Exposure, one of the best books out there for photography or any of Ansel Adams books, they are called The Camera, The Negative and something else, it's a series. Also subscribe to Rangefinder Magazine. It's free and covers a lot of really good stuff. There's a lot of fluff to it as well, but for free you can't beat it.
