Lift kits are for the weak
« on: November 15, 2007, 09:14:41 AM »

Picked up some 32x11.5 BFG MudTerrains and decided to test fit them on my jeep.  Did it for shites and giggles as I'm waiting for my lift to get here.  Anyways, while they do fit under the fenders I woudn't recommend driving as you'll rub when you turn the front tires more than 10-15deg and it would only take a small pebble to push the rear tires into the fender.

Pics for grins:

How big a lift are you getting, about 4 inches or so?

4.5" Short Arm from Rusty's Offroad.  Should be getting here today and Saturday I'll be driving down to the CarCraft Center on Carson to put it on.

Should be an awesome setup.  I had a 3.5" Rubicon Express Trail lift (fuckin hard ass johnny joints, was terrible on the road) on a 97 cherokee, and it was phenomenal.  I never ever had any problems ever.  Granted i didnt do anything insano like Independance trail or whatever, but it handled carnage canyon fine, numerous trips into pike natl forest going through 1-2ft of loose snow, etc.

But yeah, your's should be awesome.

Well I'm heading down to Ft Carson tomorrow (saturday) to put the lift on at the Car Craft Center, then me and some buddies are going wheelin on Sunday.  We were probably going to hit up Spring Creek (Idaho Springs area) or Left Hand Canyon (Boulder area).  Just give me a call.

Oh, anyone want to stop by and help out Saturday.  I've got to put my lift on and I'm helping a friend put a 4" lift on his 4Runner.  I have to get bothg done Saturday so I might be pressed for time as the Car Craft Center closes at 1630 on weekends.  1 or 2 extra set of hands would be most welcome.

Actually I would say that with the plethora of young and stupid kids (whose first car is the MK4 mommy and daddy bought them) invading the scene in riced out and gaudy mk4's I was probably just showing you all what the future held.  You could say I'm a trend setter.  Or am I the only one who noticed at DATR that over half the cars there were mk4's and that almost a 1/3 of those were modded in a way that bordered on JDM?
