Well it was bound to happen...
« on: November 12, 2007, 10:59:27 PM »

Well after buying the Passat from Los a while back, I had to break down and upgrade.  I ended up going and picking up an Audi Allroad to replace the "honey wagon".  I have to say I love it!  Just wanted to let you all know.

So are we gonna see more of you around then?

Also, is it a 2.7t?  Or if you got the 4.2 i'm gonna be jealous.

So does ur 2.7t have some serious turbo lag? I was going to buy one before I bought my Saab and the turbo almost got me killed pulling out into traffic downtown. But they are sweet rides.

Unless they tune the 2.7t in the allroad differently then the S4, you should have not had any turbo lag issues, unless you were starting in the wrong gear.

No I didn't double clutch or any other B.S. But the one I drove up at Hueberger just wasn't what I expected for such a nice looking car. Doesn't everyone start off in secong gear? :o

Hell, just chip it then and you'll be up around 300HP.  Should be fine I'd think.

It's gone through my mind to buy an A6 2.7T and do the same.  Has to be a 6spd though.  I like the Allroads, just not sure about the SUV-like styling but I do want AWD and I have a feeling an A6 2.7T will be easier to find in good shape(affordably) than a B5 S4 as well.

I'm not sure what you expected, my S4 hit full boost at about 3400rpms and had plenty of power below that.  The only time you should have any issues is if you were starting from a very slow roll, then it may have taken 1 or 2 seconds to build up boost.  What probably happened is the car you drove likely had blown diverter valves, which causes all kinds of fun little problems.

There is a little lag, but not much.  I hardly notice it.  Pics are coming tonight...well maybe this weekend.  I just picked up a new cam and will be looking to take some nice shots of it.  I am going to resist the urge to mod.  lol.  But I have looked at chipping it and getting some nice BBS's on there.  LMAO.

You need to factor about 250 dollars extra for some Forge Diverter valves if you plan on chipping it.  Also you will want to start saving for an APR bipipe, or you can half ass it and do the TBB fix.

Just for kicks...does anyone know for sure if there is really a difference between the Allroad and any other A6?  I am considering getting some work done.  Any one hear anything good or bad about Revo?
