Yes you probably are missing something.

I'm talking about fabbing up custom supercharger brackets .. .that allow for proper belt alignment etc..
Idler pullies, belt routing.. machining pullies smooth for other than stock belt routing.... charge piping .. intake piping etc...

Remember guys I've had one of these in kit form.  I wouldn't even try fooling myself into building my own supercharger kit unless I had an extensive shop at my disposal.

I guess it must just be my old school domestic mentality, hold it in place, use straight edges, levels, string, measure, mock up, cut up some metal into the shape you need.....

unless I just got bit by the build it yourself bug  8)

Well that's how you feel .... I feel differently.
Having owned a supercharger kit it's not something that you are throwing together in your garage with common hand tools.  And no offense.. but there's only a baby sized handful of people reading these forums that I would say have the resources and abilities to do something like this.

Frankly, i think most sane people would rather install a professionally engineered product on their car than custom design their own.  I can semi understand something like a custom exhaust, but things that get really far into fluid dynamics should probably be left to the professionals.
