Nothing gets past you!  Way to go Sherlock!  Here's your sign.

Why are these guys crying about $50?  If it was that big of a deal why did they let him take the car and the title?

I was thinking the same thing... I am guessing there is another side to that story... too bad I don't care enough to find out...

It's not about $50, it is about principle.

They agreed to a price and he has not paid up.

I agree but at some point you have to let things go.  Making a public hit on a guy over $50 is dumb.  If you didn't trust him then don't give him the title.  I have a friend that owes me money and skipped town.  If I ever see him I am going to kick the living shit out of him and clean out his wallet but that is for a lot more than $50.  I already fucked his ex.  I am not seeking others to do my dirty work. :P  I guess it is kinda a handle your own buisness sort of deal.  Especially over $50 lousy bucks.

Yes and no.

I have lost a hell of a lot more than $50 on deals ($1000 on one old bus because the guy lost his job, etc etc.) and not cried about it.  That is not really the point in me posting it here.  I hate it when people screw other people and would rather not him or someone else do it to my friends.  That is really why I posted it here, not because I care if the people get their money back (though I hope they do).

Some punk kid that doesn't think an agreement is important, needs to learn a lesson.  If someone won't stand up to their word - FUCK THEM.  I am not gonna put any effort into finding him and getting these peoples money back, but at the same time, if he wants to buy something from me, I won't sell it to him.

Fair enough.  Keep in mind he did pay $1700 though.  Not much of a screwjob.  There could be more to the story such as they didn't agree to the same price or the car was mis-represented.  There are too many factors to know exactly what happened.  Maybe the kid fell on hard times and hasw every intention of paying the guy.  Well untill he went on a public website anyways.
